Detroit Restaurant Week

Last night for Detroit Restaurant Week, Dave, Jess, Natalie, her Dave, and I checked out Opus One. It was delicious!

Circo de le Glace
Jess got the Ciroc de la Glace martini.

Fuzzy Peach
I got the Fuzzy Peach martini. Aren’t the glasses neat?

Mojito
Dave, Dave, and Nat got mojitos.

First course:
Lobster Bisque
Jess got the: Lobster Bisque (Garnished with lobster saffron ravioli and fresh chives)(description from their menu).

Chilled Shiitake Mushroom and Vegetable Spring Roll
Nat and I got the: Chilled Shiitake Mushroom and Vegetable Spring Roll (Served with Ponzu and sweet and hot dipping sauces).

Chilled Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna
Dave got: Chilled Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna (Served rare with wasabi aioli and pickled ginger).
Not pictured: Nat’s Dave got a Caesar Salad.

Second course:
Salmon with Apples and Fennel
Nat’s Dave got: Pan-Seared Salmon with Shaved Apples, Fennel, and Bacon.

 Pan-Seared Fillet of Arctic Char
Nat got the: Pan-Seared Fillet of Arctic Char (Presented on grilled vegetable couscous with a spring pea coulis and micro greens salad).

Grilled Peppered Loin of Australian Lamb
Dave got the: Grilled Peppered Loin of Australian Lamb (Served with spinach risotto and a Dijon mustard sauce).

Spice Rubbed New York Strip Steak
Jess and I got the: Spice Rubbed New York Strip Steak (Served with a potato mushroom hash, baby green beans and a red wine demi-glace garnished with angel hair onion rings).

And if that wasn’t enough, the third course was:
Trio Chocolate Mousse
Trio Chocolate Mousse (Three layers of dark, milk and white chocolate with fresh berries and raspberry sauce).

Creme Brulee
Crème Brûlée (Classic baked vanilla custard topped with caramelized sugar and fresh berries).

It was such a great meal – good food and good friends.
